Cell Phones

I understand that today there were metal detectors at Cardozo High School. The children were to walk through them, backpacks searched. Cellphones and electronic equipment were confiscated.
Great learning environment you set up there Mikey. So bleeping glad we have 4 more years of your shit.

I will not allow my kid to be subjected to being treated like a criminal. If this ever happens at Bayside HS, my child has permission to turn around and go home. What a travesty and an unconscionable waste of money and man/womanpower.

That was my rule with my son. He was in his senior year the coldest day of the year the children were lined up outside, searches and items confiscated. With my permission he walked away and came home. Education Mayor my ass

I am now going through a battle with my son's HS in order to get his phone back before the break. I find it ridiculous that they confiscate phones and not return them for 2-4 weeks. That is BS. Will they pay the phone charges on the unused phone. Also, my son hangs out with his friends after school, the cell phone is the only way I can keep in touch with him or get a hold of him in case of an emergency.
Funny thing is - he wasn't busted using his phone in class. He got to school early, sat down in the auditorium to wait for his class to start and took out his phone there. This is just insane.
