Congratulations...
to the parents who last night disrupted the Panel for Education meeting. A big applause from me. I just wish more parents would take your lead and not be afraid to let their voices be heard as well.
I wish every one of them would stand up. There would be no more schools at 250% capacity, and no more kids learning in trailers and closets and bthrooms.
Trailers themselves are not that bad. Years ago, when the trailers were new, they were great to teach in. The problem is that they have gotten into such bad shape that they are not fit to learn in or be in anymore. There are leaky roofs and doors that don't close properly. These are the kind of things that need to be addressed too.
I am a parent of 3 sons. Three sons that are or have been educated in the Public School System. My youngest child is in the sixth grade. My middle child recently graduated from an overcrowded High School but it is okay it is a great school. Big eye roll. My oldest child is a college graduate and only because his Pissed Off Parents had to pull him out of the Public School system (which utterly failed him) and pay through the nose to put him in a Private High School with small class size and by golly it worked.
